Wednesday February 1 is the halfway point between the Winter Solstice & the Spring Equinox. A time to celebrate and prepare for the approaching spring. I also want to take a moment to appreciate winter with this poem I wrote while at the frozen lake near my house.
Winter
There is no summer without winter.
Nature needs its rest.
We are part of nature, did we forget?
We are one with the resting trees, with the frozen water, with the falling snow, with the hibernating grass
It’s ok to feel dark & cold
It’s nothing to feel ashamed about.
It’s cyclical like all else.
It will come, but it will go.
Choose to see the beauty in the dark.
Intricate snowflakes, little duck prints on snow, bare trees against the sky.
Soon winter will be over and maybe we’ll long for a bit of the solitude it provides.
I love this mid point in the season, you wrote this so beautifully!
